The European Atlas on Natural Radiation is now published. The compilation of the Atlas was steered by the European Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy (Giorgia Cinelli, Marc De Cort and Tore Tollefsen). Altogether 80 experts around Europe contributed in the action. The Estonian expert contribution for the Atlas was provided by the EGT senior geologist Krista Täht-Kok.

The objective of the Atlas is to introduce the characteristics of natural radiation and causes for its origin, and describe its various sources. The Atlas is illustrated by a collection of maps of European states, depicting the level of natural radiation in each state caused by its various sources.

The Atlas is available in the Internet at: https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/publication/european-atlas-natural-radiation-0 . Supplementary information for the publication can be found here: https://remon.jrc.ec.europa.eu/About/Atlas-of-Natural-Radiation .
